Retail BC Announces New Chair Appointment
Vancouver (May 3rd, 2006)– Retail BC today announced the appointment of Steven Wilson as the new Chair of Retail BC.
Wilson, a Board member of Retail BC for four years, replaces Peter Perepelkin who is owner and manager of His ‘N Hers Fashion in Grand Forks BC. Wilson is the owner of Eyes on Burrard and Eyes on Twelfth. He now heads the largest and most dynamic provincial retail trade association in Canada.
"I’d like to thank Peter Perepelkin for his commitment and leadership over the past year," said Wilson. "Looking ahead, I envision a year of considerable growth for Retail BC. Our priorities will be to offer relevant services to BC retailers. As a retailer myself, I think every business owner who wants to be successful needs to be a member, and I see my role as making sure we are as relevant to the retail community as possible."
"Retail BC has recently launched two new programs that will help BC retailers stay competitive and improve customer service: PEAK – the first front line retail training program in BC, and Zata – an on-line benchmarking tool that retailers can use to measure their performance against that of their peers," Wilson said.
Retail BC is the voice of over 3,000 retail companies within British Columbia. BC’s retail industry generates over $50 billion in sales and employs over 255,000 British Columbians.
